The Honeymoon

Joy and I spent our Honeymoon in Hawaii and this is how things went down. As you will see in the pictures below Joy was tanning and soaking up the sun as I was simply trying to survive the toxic rays. I was clearly responsible for navigating our way around the island while Joy was busy playing with the birds. We had tons of fun eating and eating and eating some more but in between all the eating we also managed to get out and see the island.
EnJOY the pictures.

The Wedding Day

Yes yes yes..... I know, a few months late putting the wedding picture up on the blog. Joy and I got married August 14, 2010 in the Bountiful Utah Temple. We have a bunch of good wedding pictures thanks to our photographer Andee McDonald (andeesphotos.blogspot.com). The whole day went really smooth considering we planned the wedding in 30 days. Ya... I was only home for 30 days before the wedding day. Joy did cover all the pre planning, so... I'll give her credit for that much.

Back to Utah

My older brother Ryan flew to DC to drive back to Utah with me. We stopped in Chicago for a few day to visit family and have fun at my grandpas lake house. My cousin Scott took Ryan and I on a tour of the united center.

Meet Cedric

So I was driving down the street and nearly hit what I thought was a rock in the middle of the street. It turned out to be a turtle my roommates and I named Cedric. After a couple of weeks of turtle rehabilitation Cedric was ready to return to the wild. His new home is the creek behind our house... I check on him here and there to make sure he's adjusting OK.

The Proposal

Ok... so for everyone who has been asking me, "How did you ask her??" Here is the official story... I live in Washington DC and Joy has been living in Utah the last couple months. I flew out to visit last weekend from Thursday til Sunday. Friday night I took Joy out on a date to The Roof (picture from our restaurant table to the left) it's a restaurant with a view of temple square. After we ate I told Joy that my Grandparents really wanted to see us and they live close to the restaurant. We arrived at my grandparents complex and they buzzed us in. Instead of stopping at my grandparents 4th floor we took the elevator straight to the top of the building. We then exited the elevator and walked straight out on to the roof of the building where (thanks to my sister Caitlin) there was a runway of candles and flowers leading to a table with pictures of Joy and I. I then got down on one knee (thanks to the advise of my Dad ) and asked her to marry me. Now she had more than one option to respond to my request. She could have said NO.... or just turned and ran off the roof!!! Thankfully, SHE SAID YES! Then it was time to visit my Grandma and Grandpa, the next surprise for Joy was that when I asked her Father if I could marry her I also invited him and Joy's Mom to my grandparents house to surprise Joy just one last time. AND for the record, Joy cried but only after Mr. DeCow cried first! haha

Engaged

What a good looking couple...

Carnegie Hall NYC

So I took a bus from DC to NYC to watch my little sister Brooke sing on the main stage at Carnegie Hall. She was the first one on stage and the last one off. I made sure everyone in Carnegie Hall that night knew who she was. I yelled, "woooooooo BROOKE BUTLER!!!!"
